City of SS Meeting - Hammond Drive Widening
This coming Monday - April 13, 2009 at 5:30 PM
This is an important meeting to give your feedback to the city.
Dear Lee,
I-285… Abernathy… now… Hammond? Will our city have yet another east-west traffic corridor for Cobb commuters to navigate through Sandy Springs? According to this week’s Sandy Springs Reporter article several entities are aligning their plans to address Perimeter traffic including a six lane Hammond Drive from Ashford-Dunwoody Road into Sandy Springs and a four lane Hammond Drive between GA 400 and Roswell Road. Some have questioned what happens when the evening commuter volume headed west on Hammond gets to Roswell Road, then what? Cobb commuters want to get home… is it via congested Roswell Road to 285? … is it across Roswell Road to Sandy Springs Circle to clogged Johnson Ferry and onto Abernathy? …or perhaps continue to Mount Vernon and cross the river via Heards Ferry? Where are we directing these commuters? If Hammond is widened, how will that traffic flow impact our neighborhood roads? Come to the meeting and ask the questions - all are welcome.
Meeting Details:
Monday, April 13, 2009 - 5:30 PM
Sandy Springs City Hall
Morgan Falls Office Park
7840 Roswell Road, Building 500
Sandy Springs, GA 30350
We look forward to meeting with city staff and their consultants to understand this project and its impact on our neighborhoods. Please join us.
Sincerely,
Your Sandy Springs Council of Neighborhoods
