Summer 2010: Sandy Springs Events to Love

June 26, 2010 by Lee Davenport

Summer’s here and there are many activities to keep you busy in Sandy Springs.  Here are just a few to note:

Hobnob at the Park

The Sandy Springs/Perimeter Chamber of Commerce will host Hobnob at the Park, a community “meet and greet” event with candidates on the July 20 primary ballot. Hobnob will be held on Monday, June 28 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the patio of the 7000 Central Park Building, 7000 Central Parkway in Sandy Springs. All candidates for state elective offices and local legislative seats have been invited. The public is invited to come meet the candidates and enjoy music by local band, Yuppie Scum. Hobnob at the Park will be a great opportunity for chamber members and the community to meet and ask questions of candidates running for statewide and local offices in the July 20 primary election. “We wanted to provide a fun event where the candidates and public could meet in a relaxed atmosphere,” said chamber President, Sheri Wilburn.

Attendees can also take advantage of the opportunity to safely dispose of sensitive documents. Shred2Go will be on site receiving documents for shredding. The charge to shred one box of documents will be $6.00.

There is no charge to attend Hobnob at the Park. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Contact Lindsay Kling at the chamber for more information.

Movin’ Groovin’ Morning

Heritage Sandy Springs will hold their next Movin’ Groovin’ Morning on Wednesday, June 30 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. This event is free and open to the public. Movin’ Groovin’ Mornings are designed as a fun and engaging opportunity for children ages 3 to 10 to enjoy creative movement and scientific exploration. Call 404.851.9111 for more information.
