Mark your calendar now for the 2010 Sandy Springs Festival scheduled for Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26. Visit www.sandyspringsfestival.com for more information.   That same day, the Sandy Springs Tennis Association will hold the Sandy Springs Tennis Festival on Saturday, September 25 from 2-10 p.m. at the Sandy Springs Tennis Center located at 500 Abernathy Road. Registrations forms are available online at www.sandyspringstennis.org/forms. Proceeds from the event will support SSTA’s youth tennis programs.

Family Fun at Sandy Springs’ Newest Attraction

The City of Sandy Springs will hold a ribbon cutting along with the City’s Fifth Anniversary Celebration at its newest park: Morgan Falls Overlook Park. The event will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2010, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the park—200 Morgan Falls Road. Parking is at North Springs United Methodist Church, on the corner of Roswell Road and Morgan Falls Road. A shuttle will be provided. There will be no on-site parking.

Mark your calendar for these remaining May 2010 events here in Sandy Springs, GA, one of Atlanta’s most affluent suburbs for the young professional.  The first concert in the Wind Down Wednesdays series will take place on Wednesday, May 19 on the entertainment lawn at Heritage Green. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults (21 and over) and includes one free beverage; $2 children (13-20) and free for ages 12 and under. A Royal Affair Cafe will host a “Celebrate Life” party in the Parkside Shopping Center in Sandy Springs from 5-9 p.m. on Saturday, April 25. Friends, family and neighbors are invited to support children from the oncology department at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The evening will feature live music by Uncle Mike’s Band and tasty bites from A Royal Affair Cafe. The cost to attend is $30 for adults and $10 for children. To purchase tickets click here. The City of Sandy Springs has begun preparing its 2009 Annual Action Plan under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Sandy Springs Citizens may present ideas to the Mayor and City Council on how the city might use its 2009 CDBG funds at a public hearing on Tuesday, February 3. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
