How to Get a $7500 Grant Towards Your Home Purchase

April 4, 2011 by Lee Davenport

Many of us enjoy the investment matching programs offered by various employers, where for every $1 you invest in your retirement, your employer may match you with $1 or some variation.  Many capitalize on such matching programs but what if someone would match the funds you contribute to your home purchase? Here in metro Atlanta, there is such a program through the FHLBank First-time Homebuyer Program (FHP).

Metro Atlanta’s Top Scoring High Schools

September 15, 2010 by Lee Davenport

Whether you are looking to relocate to the Metro Atlanta area or if you already live here but are in search for the best public school districts, here are the latest findings.  Despite the state of Georgia’s average SAT score for public, private and home schooling landing in the bottom of all the states (48th out of 50 states and the District of Columbia) with a total average of 1453, there are still Metro Atlanta public schools that exceed the state’s average and maybe a good choice for your high school-aged children.

Places To Love: SPRINGSIDE PARK

May 28, 2009 by Lee Davenport

As I was out and about showing some great townhouses and condos to one of my dear Sandy Springs’ clients, I stumbled across this quaint real estate community that any condo seeker would love.  Springside Park is located in the heart of Sandy Springs but still has an Atlanta address (great for those that love the city life but not the city congestion).  Located right on Dalrymple Road near North Springs High School, this gated condo community is a welcome retreat from city life.  Despite it being so close to North Springs, by it being a gated community, residents do not notice the High Schoolers (except for the residents whose building faces the school - sorry!).

THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY: Metro Atlanta Real Estate

December 12, 2008 by Lee Davenport

American real estate has been through some up and downs these past couple of years to say the least!  If you bought real estate during the height of the real estate bubble (2002 - 2006), you may have heard  the horror stories of the value of your home being drastically reduced, if even still existent at all.  But for those that bought in Metro Atlanta, even during the heyday of the real estate bubble, there is actually good news for you… really there is.
